  • Published in Opinion

End violence against women. While in many nations of the world men still assume positions of superiority and women are increasingly marginalized and mistreated on the Greater Antilles island, a contingent of justice becomes great inspired by today's core ideal and always say no to violence against women.

Today in many parts of the world more than one voice is heard to tell the painful, disturbing memory, more than one body shows its marks, more than one face is outraged by the claws of unscrupulous beings that lacerate dreams and succumb in terror to those that by right and will of destiny deserve to be respected.

There is a very beautiful phrase that states: 'Love gives everything, wishes everything and supports everything', but there are situations that hurt deeply and it is almost impossible to endure, however, many women on planet earth, and it hurts to say, accept them and assimilate to the point that they choose to become submissive of dominant mortals without scruples and a lot of ego, without respect for the neighbor, devoid of feelings, of heart.

Hundreds, thousands of stories are written on a daily basis related to gender violence, exploitation of women, abuse of that very important being to whom gratitude, spiritual value and unconditionality must be offered, for all that it represents in the everyday struggle, wherever it may be, come from wherever it comes.

No matter the age, being a woman is a privilege that is greatly multiplied and enjoyed in Cuba, a country where she knows how to be born, fly like pigeons, take on challenges, give light, life and encouragement to the family, turn chimeras into reality and join the claim which advocates universal resounding no to intimidation and rampant bigotry toward women.

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 17th, 1999. Since that year, various activities around the world have been held every November 25th to promote the defense of rights of the women in homage to the sisters Patria, Minerva and Maria Teresa Mirabal, who were assassinated in 1960 by orders of the Dominican dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo.
