Statue of Fidel Castro in South Africa.Pretoria.- The statues of Oliver Tambo, one of the key founding fathers of South Africa's liberation and constitutional democracy, and the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, have been unveiled today in the South African province of Free State.

Ace Magashule, Prime Minister of that province, other personalities of that region and the commercial advisor at the Cuban embassy in South Africa, Pedro Arteaga, participated in this ceremony.

South Africans who studied in Cuba, along with collaborators from that Caribbean nation workings in Free State, were also present.

The ceremony concluded with a cultural event where songs such as 'Cuba, que linda es Cuba ', and the traditional 'Guantanamera ' were sung.

This activity coincides with the tributes taking place in South Africa on occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of Tambo, who instigated the civil disobedience campaign that changed the African National Congress's struggle against Apartheid regime in the 1940s, and the tributes to the Cuban leader on occasion of the first anniversary of his death.
