In the battle for savings, every contribution counts

Guaimaro is one of the Camagüeyan territories with the highest demand for electricity generation, which leads to overconsumption of the plans assigned in some agencies.

In order to avoid overdrafts, the members of the Energy Council of the territory materialize strategies aimed at reducing the rates of electricity consumption, since although a decrease can be seen, the measures do not reach the expected impact.

In the state sector two intervals of energy self-cutting were established, one in the morning, shifting the hours of service provision so as not to affect the population, and the other from seven p.m. till 10:00 p.m.

According to the directors of the Basic Electric Organization (OBE), the trend is currently increasing spending during peak hours, especially in the residential sector, where more than 68 percent of the municipality's consumption is allocated.

The government authorities emphasize the importance of the contribution of each person from their home, by turning off the lights and equipment switched on unnecessarily, especially between 11:00 a.m. to one p.m., and from six to nine p.m.
