Cuban president congratulates Chucho Valdés for new Grammy

Havana, Nov 15.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel today congratulated Cuban pianist and composer Chucho Valdés who expanded his long list of awards by winning the Latin Grammy in the Best Jazz Album category.
After reporting the news, the president wrote posted his Twitter account: 'Congratulations Maestro #SomosCuba.'
The legendary pianist's album 'Jazz bata 2' overcame rival nominees: 'Turning Pages' by Claudia Acuña; 'Elemental' from the trio composed of Otmaro Ruiz, Jimmy Haslip and Jimmy Branly; 'Two Orientals' by Hugo Fattoruso and Tomohiro Yahiro; and 'Rio-São Paulo' by Andre Marques.
Thus the Cuban musician added a fourth Latin Grammy to his list that also includes six Grammy Awards and many others.
The Cuban Institute of Music posted on its Facebook account: 'Congratulations to Maestro Chucho Valdes, another Grammy for his discography.'
