The Key to the City, given to prominent figures who visit it, with the category of Adopted SonsFeb, 2016.- The village of Guaimaro founded on' February 10, 1791 ', has created a memory that consistently identifies its inhabitants, always proud of their origin and long and distinguished history from the beginnings to the present day.

 

On the occasion of the celebration of the 225th anniversary of the founding of the town, Vestiges is a journey through the city that shows objects related to some common constructive elements of the nineteenth century.

Examples include the brick found in the yard of a local house donated by the City Historian Desiderio Borroto Valdes; the tile that belonged to the house number 39 at Maximo Gomez street and the border molding, collected in the restoration  of the building 35 at Martí street in 2007, both pieces donated by Yaniesky Trecus Ruiz.

Urban signs are also exhibited such as the name of a street and objects that mark the symbols of the city: the Key to the City which is given to prominent figures who visit it, with the category of Adopted Sons, and the Shield of the City, awarded as a symbol of Illustrious Sons.
