Judge dismisses Trump lawsuit against those demanding tax returns. Taken from Prensa Latina.Washington, Nov 12.- A federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit filed by US President Donald Trump aimed at preventing a legislative group from resorting to a New York law to obtain a copy of his tax returns.

Trump is the first president since Gerald Ford (1974-1977) to not publish that information, something that his predecessors considered part of their duty of transparency and accountability to US citizens.

During the 2016 electoral campaign, Trump refused to disclose his tax returns under the pretext of an audit by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), but several sources, including that agency, have refuted that justification.

District of Columbia Judge Carl Nichols ruled that this jurisdiction is not the appropriate to rule on the lawsuit against the House of Representatives' Ways and Means Committee, the New York Prosecutor's Office and the Director of the Tax and Finance Department in that state, Michael Schmidt, who are demanding Trump's tax statements.
