Danny Glover.Santiago, Chile, Aug 23.- Few movie goers could stay away from the Lethal Weapon saga with Danny Glover as the main character, and least of all from Scorsese's seal with Taxi Driver and Raging Bull, scripts that were written by Paul Schrader.

Two major attractions that will make headlines starting today as special guests of the Santiago International Film Festival (Sanfic 12), which opened on Monday with free screenings for students.

Danny Glover is one of Hollywood's unavoidable faces. In addition to the three versions of Lethal Weapon, always sharing the screen with Mel Gibson, he gave outstanding performances in The Color Purple, Manderlay and Blindness.

On occasions, script writers remain in the shadow. Perhaps for that reason, the name of Paul Schrader does not ring a bell. But he was the man who wrote the scripts of Taxi Driver and Raging Bull for Martin Scorsese (both films starring in Robert de Niro).

His collaboration with Scorsese went beyond that with The Last Temptation of Christ (Willem Dafoe) and Bringing Out the Dead (Nicolas Cage). As a moviemaker, Schrader directed Affliction (Nick Nolte) and Adam Resurrected (Jeff Goldblum).

Glover and Schrader will be honored tonight at the opening gala of Sanfic 12 at the CorpArtes Theater, where the film Dog Eat Dog, directed by Schrader) and starring in Nicolas Cage and Willem Dafoe will be exhibited.
