Berlin, Jun 6.- Germany expressed today its concern about the possibility to issue a joint statement regarding climate change, trade and migration flows.
This time, there is doubt about the signing of that document, which should propose unanimity to be approved.
German Government sources explained today in a media conference that many countries are focused on key issues, with similar doubts, but chose to be cautious, especially due to the new stance adopted by the United States.
Such stance is seen in important issues since US President Donald Trump assumed the presidency.
In that reference, they recalled what happened in May at the G7 summit in Italy, where the US president vetoed any reference to climate change in the final statement of this forum of economic powers.
The German spokespeople said that regarding the G20 presidency (Germany) has a clear stance, because it is in favor of the Paris Agreement and other countries support it.
About the climate change, they said the US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement, signed by the overwhelming majority of the countries in late 2015 to stop global warming, does not determine how Washington's climatic policy would be and they are negotiating on those grounds.
They highlighted that international trade, the battle against climate change and international migratory flows were very important issues that Berlin wanted to agree at global level.
