Cuba registers fifth perceptible earthquake of the year. Taken from Prensa Latina.Santiago de Cuba, Oct 30.- The network of National Seismological Service stations recorded here on Wednesday the fifth perceptible earthquake of the current year, with a magnitude of 3.3 and located 24.4 kilometers south of Siboney beach.

The coordinates of the tremor were at 19.74 latitude north and 75.71 longitude west, at a depth of 11.8 kilometers, with perceptibility reports in this city and without human or material damage.

With a difference of less than a week, another telluric movement was detected, the fourth of 2019 and with a location 27.2 kilometers southeast of Chivirico, in the marine and mountainous municipality of Guamá, on the southeastern coast of the Cuban geography, the most seismically vulnerable in the country.

According to scientific criteria, the occurrence of those natural phenomena have decreased considerably since 2017, the energy that accumulates and then dissipates in the form of earthquakes takes a time called the seismic cycle, the duration of which is proportional to the size of the telluric movement or the energy subsequently released.
