The Municipal University Center (CUM) from Guaimaro municipality is an institution where science and technical are part of the formation of their students. They on each course contribute with their researchers to the economic development in the territory, the biggest per cent of the diploma works are based on the existent problems in the municipality.
We should highlight the contributions of agronomy degree by its impact. 15 students graduated of this specialty last year with thesis where searched more productive ways for the protection of different cultivations developed in Guaimaro.
The relevance of the researchers led to the insertion on the local agriculture of new clones of yucca and sweet potato as well as a new planted for the tobacco. Presently those experiments show its value without great additional costs or imported technology can obtain higher performance.
The name of this municipal center had been represented by teachers and students on many events in Whole Island, also different developed works are on national and international publications.
