Life saving gesture on Fidel Castro's birthday

A blood donation, free of charge in Cuba. The 89th anniversary of the birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, served as motivation for blood donors in the city, that this August 13 were mobilized towards the human task in the headquarters of the Municipal Coordination of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR).

22 blood donations were made in the day with a wide participation of members of the CDR from different committee blocks from the head city, and the most outstanding donors came from the Zone 36, ascribed to the local 18 of the doctor and nurse of the family in Sandino District.

With the altruistic gesture from last Thursday, voluntary blood donors in Guáimaro guaranteed the plan committed for August with an amount of 65 contributions.

The first political and administrative authorities in Guaimaro Julio Toledo Martin, First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party and Reinaldo Aguilar, vice president of the highest body of the Popular Power, joined the Individual tribute of 500 grams of human plasma set by the Ministry of Public Health for each donation.
