Provincial Ceremony in Guaimaro to be held for International Women's Day

Mausoleum dedicated to Ana Betancourt in Guaimaro.The provincial ceremony for March 8 will be held next Sunday in the Ana Betancourt de Mora Mausoleum of this city, where the remains of the illustrious patriot who in 1869 raised her voice in defense of the rights of women are buried.

According to Rosa María Cruz Balbuena, municipal secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), more than 15,000 local federates have been engaged since the end of February in a varied program of activities as part of that celebration day.

As part of the celebrations, members of the FMC participate in voluntary works in the Agricultural Production Farm (Cooperativa de Producción Agropecuaria (CPA) in Spanish) Remigio Riverón, and conduct educational talks, in delegations and blocks, about the negative consequences of addictions.

The women also compete in the contest 'We are the Revolution', dedicated to women and Fidel, and prepare for the bicycle ride, scheduled to take place from the Park of the Mothers to the Mausoleum, on March 5th.

In addition, there are meetings with pregnant women, in the Maternal Home, and exchanges with the new generations, in the Parque Constitución, of this city.

According to Cruz Balbuena, the organization stands out for its satisfactory results in completing the basic structures, in the Directing policy and in the delivery of finances.
