V Municipal Conference of the veterans held in Guaimaro

Local veterans carry out their conference.With the participation of 78 delegates, the V Municipal Conference of the Cuban Revolution Veterans Association (ACRC) held in this city.

This meeting was presided over by Jorge Enrique Sutil, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC); Brigadier General Juan Rafael Ruíz Pérez; Julio David Chiong Blanco, president of the ACRC in the province; and the partisan and governmental authorities of the territory.

According to Oscar Cabalé Olivera, representative of the Association in this municipality, in the exchanges carried out in the 58 grassroots organizations, among the main proposals were the improvement of the attention to veterans and the link with the new generations.

During the meeting, Jorge Sánchez Escalona, founder of the PCC, proposed as the first agreement of this conference the unanimous rejection of the Helms-Burton Law, an extraterritorial policy that aims to suffocate the Cuban economy.

The veterans also talked about the ideological political preparation, the popular recreational shooting, the growth of the association and the patriotic internationalist military work, among other topics.

The meeting was also conducive to the presentation and approval of the work objectives for the next five years, the renewal of the ACRC Municipal Office and the selection of delegates to the Provincial Conference.
