Guaimaro beekeepers exhibit satisfactory results in the production of honey and its derivatives, aware of the importance of responding to the call of the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez, when he urged thinking as a country.
The territory has 21 beekeepers, belonging to three Credit and Services Cooperatives (CCS), where there are more than one thousand hives that allowed the delivery of 35 tons of honey at the end of the previous year.
There is also, in this municipality, a center of genetic improvement of queen bees, with a production of high quality specimens, an element of great importance for the annual change of the honeycombs.
Palpable results were achieved in '2019', with 102 percent in honey production, 112 in obtaining wax and 125 percent in obtaining propolis, which demonstrates the over-compliance of the plans foreseen for that calendar.
Beekeepers in the easternmost region of Camagüey take advantage of all the benefits of bees and in their daily actions they reveal once again the importance of this insect in the pollination of plants throughout the world, an essential element for harmony in the ecosystems and biodiversity conservation for their tribute to plant reproduction.
