Local women gather to analyse and debate.Under the motto “Making Revolution on the march”, the members of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in the easternmost part of the Camagüeyan territories materialize creative women's meetings, volunteer work, workshops and dissimilar productive and community actions.

Against all prejudice and gender discrimination, local women reach a significant place in society and quickly assume responsibilities in different instances of power, with a prominent representation in the Municipal Assembly of People's Power.

The tour of the municipality on January 23 of the 60th Anniversary Flag of the Federation of Cuban Women, started in Guantánamo and planned to conclude in March of this '2020' in the Cuban capital, survives in the region where the Marianas of these Times proudly celebrate the six decades of the foundation of the women's organization that presided over the unforgettable revolutionary Vilma Espín.

In sixty years of history the Cuban woman and especially that of Guaimaro find their privileged space in Cuba, a nation where their nest of illusions is consolidated, land where their family is strengthened, country where with their wheat bread hands they build castles of humanity, smile, applaud and breathe new airs.

From many heroines those of Guaimaro learn to cultivate courage, race, courage, say Mariana Grajales, an unforgettable patriot who educated all her children in honesty, friendship, morals, patriotic love and civic behavior, Celia Sánchez Manduley, principal promoter of the creation of the female platoon identified with the name of the mother of the Maceo, the same Cuban who along with Fidel participated in various combats and marched in the Caravan of Victory, the unruly rebel cataloged by Armando Hart as "the most native flower of the Revolution."

Vilma Espín Guillois, Melba Hernández, Haydée Santamaría, Clodomira Ferrales and Lidia Doce are added to the list of names of brave Cuban women.
