“After the hurricane, it comes the rainbow”, how many of us remember this expression these days, how many of us ask that all these days of painful information, of unexpected deaths, tears and many cries, of shocking news that travel the world, pass by, How many we long for the mass media to be filled with positive and hopeful headlines again.
Humanity is in danger and we need to save it. The man is cornered by a deadly pandemic that leaves havoc and succumbs to thousands, millions, in a crisis that is not only spiritual, but also economic. The impact is total, moreover, in the face of the current threat there is no shortage of messages from those who believe and trust, the actions of those who fight all their lives that, as the German poet and playwright Bertolt Brecht affirmed, are essential, in that army The name of Cuba stands out, an island that feels and suffers, an island that cries and battles, an island that does not give in and shows solidarity, a nation that endorses the ideals of responsibility and reciprocity.
Many wonder why the green alligator that seems to rest in the waters of the Caribbean, even in the most difficult conflicts chooses to walk the most complicated roads, the answer is summarized in a word, SOLIDARITY, that which teaches us to understand the meaning much more of the phrase: “Self-contribution to others”, because being in solidarity implies that, giving everything without expecting anything in return.
While in other countries the interest prevails to save the profits of the most powerful, regardless of how many dispossessed dies in this conflict, Cuba strengthens the main reason of the socialist system and that must be that of all systems, the protection of the most important resource: The human.
Pride is felt when on planet earth it is said: Cuba is beautiful for its people and its landscapes, but more, much more, for its gift of solidarity! Because with this human value, Cubans in these and all times, share regardless of race, creed and age, the confidence in not being afraid of failure, because only those who never try fail.
When this nightmare passes, history will register new pages of altruism, dignity and courage, Cuba will be proud with its large list of heroes, those who, by declaring themselves victorious before Covid-19, will star alongside family, friends and the people, the most strong hugging and congratulatory kiss, accompanied of course, by the most excited applause.
Those recovered throughout the universe will never forget the gesture of a small country that being blocked by the brutal and cruel empire manages to awaken in the brothers and on other borders the immortal expression: Trust Cuba and your fears will end! And so it is, because Cuba is hope, example, impetus and courage, Cuba is the mother of a people who firmly follow what their faith dictates: Help others!
