As the realization of an old desire, the Casa del Escritor Literary Café opens in Guaimaro, a space for the encounter and greater prominence of the strong intellectual movement in town, stated Diusmel Machado, a renowned writer, eager to see the job totally done.
Once the installation is inaugurated, a program of multiple activities will be developed for the whole month where the gatherings, readings, recitals, talks, among other manifestations such as trova and the performing arts will stand out, with the participation of authors and artists from other territories.
Yeikel Suárez, main architect and head of the brigade of self-employed workers in charge of the construction actions, explained that the Provincial Center for Books and Literature granted the materials and the budget for the development of the project.
La Casa del Escritor is seen as an attractive place for the locals for its contribution to the system of cultural institutions of the municipality and the idea of starting the operation of several literary cafes in Camagüey, with the aim of promoting literature and the commercialization of books as a priority in these times given the need to promote reading.
