The thin and persistent rain of Sunday March 5th didn’t prevent the celebration of the provincial act for the International Women's Day, an event where the presence of Mariana Grajales, Ana Betancourt de Mora, Celia Sánchez Manduley, and many other patriots who gave their lives for the liberty of the nation was felt, all them forever in the heart of the country.
The protagonism of Cuban women goes far beyond their commitment to the work of the Revolution. Its imprint has also remained in the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. In that nation, as in many other Latin American and the world our pedagogues have taken their knowledge for the good of society.
As part of the celebrations for the International Women's Day, the image of the Commander is drawn in the heart of the women in Guaimaro, who thank Fidel Castro Ruz for his constant struggle for the full emancipation of the women and their insertion in the political, economic and social life of the country.
Women in Guaimaro celebrated the provincial ceremony on behalf of March 8th, in the Ana Betancourt de Mora Mausoleum of this city, before the remains of the illustrious patriot, who raised her voice in 1869, in defense of the rights of the women.
