President of the National Olympic Committee of Russia, Alexander Zhukov.Moscow, Jan 14.- Russia is making evaluations to present its candidature to organize the 2028 Olympic Games, assured the president of the National Olympic Committee of Russia, Alexander Zhukov.

'It is possible, we want to make a try,' Zhukov said to Russian news agency RIA NOVOSTI in an interview Friday, in which he mentioned the cities of Saint Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi as possible candidates.

The selection of the host of the 2028 Olympic Games by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is scheduled for 2021, so the Russian authorities have still some time to make a definite decision about the topic.

Russia was already the host of the 1980 Games and the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, but in both cases, the contests got complicated and tarnished for both cities, because of different causes.

In 1980, there was no presence by most of the capitalist block. And in 2014, the Games got splashed by many doping cases.
