US Baseball legend Donald ''Duke'' Snider (1926-2011).Washington, Jan 18.- US Baseball legend Donald ''Duke'' Snider (1926-2011) is among those pardoned by President Barack Obama,3 days before expiring his presidency.

Snider, Hall of Fame legendary player in 1980 for his distinguished career formed in the Majors League from 1947 to 1964, benefited post mortem by this presidential pardon from the charge of tax evasion to which he pleaded guilty in 1995.

Also known as The Silver Fox or The Duck of Flatbush, Snider was the icon in the Dodgers, he played the majority of his 17 seasons with the Dodgers. He spent his final season in the major leagues with the Giants in 1964. He had a historic average of .295, with 407 home runs. When he retired he worked as sports anchorman.

Also Hall of Fame Willie McCovey, from the San Francisco Giants was pardoned.

McCovey was convicted of tax evasion in 1995 for failing to report earnings generated by autograph sessions and memorabilia shows.

He was fined and received two years' probation after pleading guilty to the charges.

McCovey, 79, went to Cooperstown in 1986 after hitting 521 home runs in 22 seasons with the Giants, the San Diego Padres and the Athletics from Oakland.
