Cuban three-time Olympic Champion Mijain Lopez.Havana, Jan 26.- Cuban three-time Olympic Champion Mijain Lopez is evaluating to compete for a fourth Olympic title in the 2020 Games in Tokyo, official sources revealed Thursday.

Cuban National Commissioner for wrestling Luis de la Portilla told the Cuban News Agency (ACN in Spanish) that there is no definite decision on the matter yet, but Lopez, a fighter belonging to the 130-kilogram category of the Greco-Roman wrestling style, is thinking about it.

Mijain Lopez, a man five times a World Champion, got his 3rd gold medal in Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro last year, is considered a definite legend in the sport. Portilla considered that it must be the athlete the one to say the last word on the topic, as it is quite hard to fight for another Olympic cycle.

'We wish Mijain could be able to take the title for the 4th time. That would turn him into the first world athlete in winning four gold medals in Olympic Games. We think he has good possibilities. All the fighters he saw at the end of 2016 at the Grand Prix in Azerbaijan, a tournament with the best fighters in the planet, are below Lopez, in quality and competing conditions,' Portilla said.

De la Portilla added that rookies Oscar Pino and Keldis Josef train to represent Cuba in this Olympic cycle, but they must predominate at Central and Pan American competition level, so that López may go to Tokyo.
