London, Sep 11.- The Formula 1 board has received about 40 proposals from different cities to host Grand Prix races, said Sean Bratches, Formula 1 commercial chief.
There have been around 40 countries, cities and municipalities interested in hosting an F1 race, which is quite encouraging, detailed Bratches on motorsport.com website.
These proposals will have to be analyzed by the Formula 1 leaders, as the 2017 calendar has 20 races and, according to the the operation of the Concorde Agreement, the cap is 25 (races per season), Bratches said.
Bratches explained that F1 new owners do not want hosts to build new circuits. Their main idea is to boost the urban paths in the big cities.
The strategy is to organize races where you can generate a lot of fans, particularly in the middle of the cities, he stated.
