Havana, Nov 16.- More than 400 foreign guests confirmed their presence to participate in the 7th Convention for Physical Activity and Sports (AFIDE) to be celebrated in the Cuban capital next week.
In a press conference last Wednesday, it was confirmed that 300 Cuban and 423 foreign delegates will take part in the more than 500 papers in different modalities.
Of the foreign delegations, the ones with the biggest attendance enclose the ones from Colombia (70), Ecuador (58) and Mexico (43).
The event will be also attended by Ministers of Sport and Physical Education from several nations and prestigious international officials, such as Italian Ricardo Fraccari, president of the World Baseball-Softball Confederation, and Chilean Neven Ilic, president of the Pan American Sports Organization, who has not yet confirmed.
Cuban Sports and Physical Education Institute (INDER) president Antonio Becali highlighted that the success of the convoking resides on the prestige reached by Cuban sport.
The event is celebrated every two years, and the 2017 edition will be inaugurated next Monday, up to next Wednesday, at Havana's Convention Center.
High sport performance, sport and society, sciences applied to sports, psychology applied to sports and sports medicine, will be among the topics to be discussed.
