The Catalejo club is a space that has gained prominence in the cultural world of the village of Marti, a town located 56 kilometers from the city of Camagüey. Its onset is limited to only five months, but in that time it has attracted a diverse audience that regularly attends the informal meeting held on the last Friday of each month at the house marked with number 4 in the Polyclinic street of that community.
Since its founding, on March 13th, 1969, the local radio station Radio Guaimaro has demonstrated the ability to encourage dawn and fill the deepest dreams with peace. In the days from Monday to Sunday it comes proud, never angry, cultured, traditional and popular, informative, musical and obliging.

The teenager who in late 1929 joined the membership of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), the same who decided to fight against the Machado tyranny, Havanan born and bred, Cuban to the core, one of the leaders of the general strike in 1933 that toppled the regime of Machado, he returns again and again to ratify he is still on fighting, ready to defend the working class, union to which he dignified so much with his extraordinary example with his dear and respected name worldwide: Lázaro Peña González.
Whenever the calendar marks the eighth day of the third month of the year many memories are crowded. The beloved women which are not among us, those which have left in the way of life indelible traces, which share dreams, trust, imagine, open windows to knowledge, make possible the individual and collective enrichment and can provide incentives to change the world.
