"The collective punishment to which the Cuban people are being subjected is an act of genocide that must be condemned by international organizations and its promoters must be criminally prosecuted," Díaz-Canel denounced on his X account.

"In the leadership of our Party, State, Government, and its military institutions, no one holds any active asset or property subject to U.S. jurisdiction." This was stated by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, via his X account.

The post is in response to new measures against high-ranking officials, leaders, and Cuban military institutions announced this Monday by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, as part of the maximum pressure plans against the Island.

"The U.S. government knows this all too well; so much so that there isn't even evidence to present. The anti-Cuban hate rhetoric tries to make it seem as if they exist to justify the escalation of their total economic war," the leader added.

"That is why we will continue to denounce, in the firmest and most energetic manner, the genocidal siege that seeks to strangle our people," he emphasized.

The Head of State described as immoral, illegal, and criminal the executive order that persecutes and threatens third parties wishing to sell fuel to Cuba, as well as the one that extraterritorializes the blockade to unprecedented levels, penalizing companies that want to invest in Cuba or simply provide us with basic goods such as food, medicine, hygiene products, or others.

CUBA REPRESENTS NO THREAT, BUT HAS THE RIGHT TO DEFEND ITSELF

"The threats of military aggression against Cuba by the greatest power on the planet are well known. The threat itself already constitutes an international crime. If materialized, it will cause a bloodbath of incalculable consequences, as well as a destructive impact on regional peace and stability."

These were the words of Díaz-Canel on Monday morning, also from X, as he reaffirmed that "Cuba represents no threat, nor does it have aggressive plans or intentions against any country."
