Viktor Karankevich, the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus, stated that his country is interested in creating joint ventures with Cuba and expanding industrial cooperation.
According to the Ministry of Industries of Cuba (Mindus), this was expressed by the high-ranking Belarusian official during a meeting with the head of the sector in the island, Eloy Álvarez Martínez, who is in the European nation for the INNOPROM international fair.
Karankevich emphasized the strength of the ties between the two countries, noting that it is a relationship of friendship based on openness and full trust.
Agreements and communications at the level of heads of state confer a high level to bilateral relations, he stressed.
In this regard, he recalled the official visit of the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, to Belarus this year, and mentioned that it has provided an additional boost to the development of relations between both countries.
We must do everything possible to ensure the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of our countries, he indicated.
Eloy Álvarez Martínez pointed out the importance placed in the Caribbean nation on increasing industrial manufacturing, including food products; and noted that in this aspect, priority is given to relations with Belarus.
We are taking advantage of our stay in Minsk to visit companies in order to find new potential projects and expand commercial and economic relations, he emphasized.
According to the head of Mindus, he visited the companies MTZ and Atlant, and it was agreed to seek ways to carry out concrete projects that would allow Cuba to advance in its industrial development.
