Etecsa announces new offer for Nauta Home Residential

The Cuban telecommunications company Etecsa offers its customers a new plan for the Nauta Residential Home service, with a postpaid option.

Lidia Esther Hidalgo Rodríguez, Etecsa's commercial vice president, explained that one common complaint from users of this service is that when they have paid for a number of hours and do not use them, they lose them. With this new offer, they can accumulate up to 1,080 hours.

He said that today the most contracted service is one megabyte with 40 hours, but 35 percent of people do not use that time, and with the new offer, they have the possibility to accumulate it.

He specified that the option to recharge remains available for those who want more service time during the month, and also to stay on the current plan; those who switch to the new plan must go to Etecsa's commercial offices.

The Nauta Hogar service began in the country in 2017 and currently has 305,000 connected homes. In 2025, more than 18,000 new services were connected. Currently, Etecsa has more than 90,000 pending requests for this service, more than 48,000 of which are in process.

The limitations for expanding the service are due to the connection being made through fixed-line telephone, which has technical difficulties that are hard to overcome because of the country’s economic problems.
