The Colonel Pedro and the Brave Lineage of the Cubans

The Colonel Pedro and the Brave Lineage of the Cubans

Colonel Pedro Yadín Domínguez Álvarez arrived this Thursday at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (Minfar) in a wheelchair, his legs covered with bandages preventing him from walking.

Speaking slowly but firmly, he recalls that his dream was interrupted by the bombs in the early hours of January 3, which was a criminal attack, and that when they were able to gather at the agreed location, the absence of his comrades is a pain that does not cease.

The attack was disproportionate, involving airplanes, bombs, drones, unmanned aircraft, Apache helicopters that indiscriminately machine-gunned the area where we were, with the objective of leaving no one alive. They were ruthless with our comrades; evidently, their purpose was to destroy everything, to end the lives of all the comrades who were there, in that place, affirmed the Colonel.

He was evacuated to a hospital, and his legs required surgery. He could not accompany the others to collect the belongings of those fallen in the treacherous attack.

Colonel Pedro thanked his Venezuelan counterparts who treated and accompanied him as a sign of cooperation between the two armed institutions, which are one, he expressed.

He came to Minfar in a wheelchair, and in front of the coffins, he stood at military attention because having worked with them and having lived this difficult experience deserves respect.

What does he feel? Pain; but he reaffirms that Cubans are people of strong character, brave, like Maceo.

The Colonel said:

"And I would like to send to all our people the reaffirmation that we are committed to the Revolution and to doing whatever it takes to defend this people, and that we remain united in the face of the threats from the United States..."

Surely we will get ahead and we will defeat any attempt by that government to attack us.
