Camagüey Federated Women Aiming for New Goals

Camagüey, Dec.— The Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in this province is facing new commitments and goals to approach 2026 as a much stronger and more robust organization, as demanded by current social dynamics.

Founded in the early days of the Revolution, over the years its prominence has been evident in all the major missions assigned by the country's leadership. Although its objectives have evolved, it remains a stronghold in defending women's achievements and empowerment.

Yanet Díaz de la Cruz, a member of the Provincial Secretariat responsible for the Ideological sphere, stated that among the main priorities are ongoing exchanges with women in leadership positions, with the aim of working together effectively to confront illegal activities.

Likewise, ties are being strengthened with young women enrolled in training programs on gender-based violence, as well as in reinforcing ethical and patriotic values.

Another goal being addressed relates to implementing better strategies on how to educate in order to prevent early-age pregnancies and their physical and emotional consequences for the pregnant women.

Additionally, at the grassroots level, they are focused on the process of discussion and analysis to correct distortions and revitalize the economy, as the intention is for everyone to contribute ideas to continue advancing the country's development despite ongoing economic limitations.

During this period, individuals who, through their daily actions, honor the work of Vilma Espín were recognized with the FMC’s 65th Seal; this process also includes institutions in Health, Culture, and the Prosecutor’s Office.

The official also specified that, as part of prevention efforts against addictions, a series of actions were carried out in each territory of the province, consisting of preventive talks featuring specialists, which extended to educational centers and communities.

She highlighted the work done during this period in the territories of Céspedes, Florida, and Sierra de Cubitas, and emphasized the Call for the Contest “The Fidel that Lives in Me,” which joins other activities planned to commemorate the Centenary of the birth of the Commander in Chief.
