"Díaz-Canel recognizes the work system in Camagüey."

In the province of Camagüey, a work system is being consolidated, based on criticism and demands regarding the problems, affirmed Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, during a meeting this Wednesday with political and administrative leaders of the territory.

As part of his usual tour of different municipalities in the country, this time in Florida and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the Cuban leader considered that the Agramontino territory shows productive experiences worthy of being generalized across the nation.

However, he emphasized that there are still shortcomings in the planting of extra-dense bananas, sweet potatoes, and sugar cane, as well as unpaid wages to workers and modest results in rice cultivation, which is operating at 78 percent.

In the proper functioning of the PCC and in the decisive role of the party members, Díaz-Canel also insisted on advancing towards achieving better economic, financial, and productive indicators.

He commented that this stage will be an opportunity to promote popular participation, based on important processes such as the discussion of the draft of the new Labor Code, the Government Program, and the documents from the Ninth Congress of the PCC, among others.

He considered that the most important thing is to achieve popular consensus to collectively face the complex economic situation the country is experiencing, which has been exacerbated not only by the intensification of the U.S. blockade but also by internal issues that can be overcome.

Upon leaving the working meeting, he found in the central José Martí park of the municipality of Florida a community with which he discussed the tense energy situation that burdens Cubans.

In this priority area, he noted, work is being done diligently, as he confirmed during his recent visit to the 10 de Octubre Thermoelectric Power Plant, located in the municipality of Nuevitas.

He shared with the residents of Florida that during his visit to that plant, he observed the efforts of a team preparing for a partial expanded maintenance of one of its units next month, which will allow it to contribute about 120 megawatts to the National Electric System, while they also plan an investment in the former space occupied by unit 4, which is out of service, where it is expected that the new installation will generate about 150 megawatts.

In his exchange with the people, he acknowledged that the strategy for building photovoltaic parks is progressing, which already contribute more than 600 megawatts, despite the fact that the results of that investment are not yet visible in the daily lives of Cubans.

As he bid farewell to the people of Florida, he reminded them that "No one gives up here!" to which many responded: "President, trust in the people of Camagüey."
