PNR reaches the 67th anniversary of its founding

January 5th - The Revolutionary National Police (PNR) marks on January 5th the 67th anniversary of its creation in 1959 following the triumph of the Revolution, established as a pillar of the security system in Cuba, the entity reported on its official Facebook profile Héroes de Azul.

It highlights that the institution emerged as part of the reorganization process that replaced the former National Police of the Republic, discredited for its repressive role during the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista, and was integrated into the Ministry of the Interior (Minint) with the mission to guarantee public order, social discipline, and citizen security.

In its early years, the PNR consolidated itself as the force responsible for preserving tranquility in communities, combating common crime, and protecting the economic interests of the State, with a presence in municipalities and provinces throughout the country.

Over the decades, the institution has accompanied the nation’s political and social processes, participating in prevention campaigns, combating economic crime, and protecting youth and childhood.

The work of the PNR has been recognized in the defense of the Revolution and the maintenance of internal stability, always guided by principles of discipline and commitment to the citizenry.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the PNR forces highlighted their deployment in communities during floods, patrolling strategic areas, joint work for prevention and investigation, as well as constant preparation to provide immediate support in emergency situations, presenting the blue uniform as a helping hand.
