Once again, life demonstrates how important it is to have reserves, even in the midst of economically adverse circumstances, such as the current situation.

This allows the country to release or allocate around 1,200 tons of galvanized steel coils for the production of approximately 50,300 metal tiles, in addition to nearly 8,000 purlins, which are indispensable for housing roofs.

The process is proceeding smoothly at one of the production lines of the Comandante Paco Cabrera Metal Structures Company, Metunas, in the Balcony of eastern Cuba.

According to Heiki Morales Pérez, the deputy director, 15 workers from the entity are involved in the tasks, working from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the goal of completing the commitment not only on time (approximately 15-20 days) but also with the usual quality.

So far, Metunas' main production has been focused on structures for Unit Number 2 of the Felton thermoelectric plant, located in the neighboring province of Holguín.

Among these elements are beams weighing up to 30 tons, a task that has posed a real challenge for this industry collective in Las Tunas, which does not recall having faced such large-scale production.

The intention is to complete this national request by December and continue responding to the country's needs, depending on priorities and available resources.
