Matanzas, Cuba, Dec. 3 – Cuba and Italy came together today through a musical event held at the Sauto Theater, a National Monument, featuring the singer and multi-instrumentalist Lavinia Mancusi and accordionist Mauro Menegazzi.
The event, part of the Italian Culture Week program, was attended at the Yumurino coliseum by the ambassador of the European country, Simona De Martino.
De Martino expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and the opportunity to be in a building that stands as a testament to Italy’s influence in the world, a work by architect Daniel Dall’e Aglio.
Matanzas has become a key hub for relations between Cuba and Italy, the senior official affirmed.
The event, dedicated to the culture of this Southern European territory, returns for the second consecutive time to the City of Bridges with the aim of strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
