Ojo de Agua, new Cuban telenovela

Havana, December – After the conclusion of the successful telenovela Regreso al corazón, another intriguing title is recurring on social media, television promos, and street word-of-mouth, reports Juventud Rebelde.

Ojo de Agua is the name of the new melodramatic work that will premiere this Monday, December 22, to the delight of the Cuban audience, increasingly fond of telenovelas, critical, and loyal to their productions.

With Eurídice Charadán, creator of the original idea and screenwriter alongside the experienced Lil Romero, an engaging conversation arose, full of spirituality and good vibes within a genre that, despite its unbreakable structure, occasionally allows variations, as long as they are well done, the newspaper states.

Regarding some of the themes that run through the work, the evolution of the genre, and the sociocultural concerns of its authors, "the spellbinding screenwriter" — as I like to call Eurídice — speaks with authentic and inspiring passion.

—Despite being one of the most experienced and effective screenwriters in our television, Eurídice Charadán takes her time to deliver new stories to the audience. Is it perhaps because she waits for stories and themes that truly inspire her?

—Although many say that everything has already been written, I believe that within the possible combinations there will always be new stories because it is not so much the what, but the how those stories are told.

She adds that it depends on the point of view from which reality is seen, and then new stories do indeed emerge.

Lately, I am interested in topics such as alternative healing methods that come from ancestral wisdom; that which has been sifted out and kept hidden, sustainability strategies forgotten or deliberately concealed by certain powers; those that return us to the human being as a species, faith, she says.

I am interested in reinforcing the idea that, according to what you believe and the emotion you put into that belief, you can create your own reality. For me, it is a completely revolutionary exercise because you do not wait on institutions or social systems to evolve, the creator opines.
