Russia will increase the distribution of films created with state support.

Moscow, Dec. 9 – Russia’s Minister of Culture, Olga Liubímova, announced today that she expects growth in the distribution of national films over the next two years due to movies created with state support.

“The Ministry of Culture of Russia issues distribution certificates, and in the coming years, we anticipate growth in the film distribution market, as well as an increase in the number of films created with state support,” said the minister.

Liubímova clarified that the department she leads also decided on the possibility of financing sequels of audience-favorite films with non-reimbursable funds, provided they are released during the period from June 1 to August 15.

“This measure will contribute to establishing a uniform release schedule starting next year,” emphasized the minister.

Additionally, Liubímova highlighted that in 2025 the ministry supported more than 150 national films within the main competition.

“In the context of the main competition, the production of 154 films was supported: 41 animated films, 50 feature films, as well as 63 documentaries,” she stated.
