The event, framed within the Romerías de Mayo festival, will be dedicated to the Provincial History Museum La Periquera, which celebrates its 50th anniversary, the 40th anniversary of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS), and the cultural views of Fidel Castro Ruz, in the year of his centenary.

The winners will receive, in addition to recognition at the closing ceremony following a day of conferences and in-person presentations, a cash prize of 10,000 pesos.

Espinosa emphasized the importance of debating and connecting with the figure of Fidel, in line with Cuban cultural policy supporting society, history, and identity, remembering the man who led various intellectual processes in the country and maintained a fraternal relationship with the AHS, an organization of which he was an Honorary Member and Master of Youths.

Among the topics are also research on traditions, customs, and local and regional identity; contributions to the creation, production, and promotion of young people's art through the AHS and Fidel’s ideology; as well as studies exploring the guidance of the historic leader in the cultural development of the country.

The Congress of Thought and Memoria Nuestra Award is considered the backbone of the Romerías de Mayo, with the participation of foreign attendees and offering a favorable space for exchanging experiences from different sociocultural realities around the world.
