Guáimaro, Dec. 26 - The year 2025 has been one of challenges as well as achievements that reward the efforts of educational sector workers committed to the training of new generations for the construction and transformation of society.
M.Sc. Neisveis Alfonso Hernández, General Director of Education in the municipality, states that although there are difficulties in teacher coverage, given the need for 137 full-time teachers in early childhood, primary, and basic secondary education, the management of hourly contracts and the workload overload have ensured the development of processes.
In this regard, the quality of learning and political-ideological work are the methodological objectives of the different teaching levels, while the continuous preparation of the teaching staff constitutes a priority in response to the increasing educational demands and the complexities of the context.
At the close of the current calendar year, Alfonso Hernández highlights the dedication of the teams at each educational center in the territory, who in exceptional situations take on their tasks with responsibility and commitment.
Among the satisfactions is the successful implementation of the Regional Comparative and Educational Exercise (ERCE) last June at the Rafael Morales primary institution and the rural school Simón Bolívar, in the Carvajal community; as well as the recent graduation of 59 students from the Technical Professional Education (ETP) program at the Levantamiento de Jucaral Agricultural Polytechnic Institute (IPA).
For the new 2026 calendar year, the leadership emphasizes the goal of improving strategies to achieve better promotion rates and raise results in prioritized subjects such as Science, Spanish, Mathematics, and History, as well as in university entrance exams, as a tribute from Guáimaro’s teachers and students to the centenary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
