December in Guáimaro rhymes with the décima (+ Photos and Post)

Guáimaro, December 21st - Décima al Filo, which for 25 years has defended the roots and traditions of peasant art in Guáimaro, will have a new edition on December 28th and 29th.

According to her Facebook profile, the renowned poet from Guama, Odalys Leyva Rosabal, on this occasion the event includes a recital of women decimistas, a guateque featuring special performances by repentistas, as well as a theoretical panel dedicated to the literary genre considered the national stanza of Cuba

The event will feature the participation of local writers and distinguished guest authors from other provinces, as well as musicians and actors who will enliven the poetic exchange sessions at the “Luz Palomares García” House of Culture — the organizing institution — the General Museum of the Cradle of the Constitution, and the Guaimareño Corner of the Décima.

The event, whose inauguration will take place on Sunday, December 28, at 10:00 a.m. at the mausoleum of Ana Betancourt, is supported by the Provincial Center for Books and Literature of Camagüey and the branch of the Union of Writers and Artists of Las Tunas.
