Guáimaro, Dec. 22 - What is the soul of a teacher made of? Perhaps letters, numbers, concepts, values... And if we look beyond books, lessons, and blackboards, we find dreams, sleepless nights, days of sacrifice, and an inexplicable passion to transform lives that will later make other dreams come true.

That's why each tribute becomes a celebration that transcends circumstances and honors the noble mission of teaching. Children, adolescents, young people, families, and an entire grateful society applaud today the work of those who impart knowledge with infinite love in schools and various other places.

The celebration of the event that concludes today has inspired recognition of Guaimare educators for their merits and exemplary careers, as highlighted this Saturday at the municipal ceremony in the sector dedicated to the 64th anniversary of Cuba's declaration as a territory free of illiteracy, on December 22, 1961; and to the centenary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, the driving force behind the Literacy Campaign that made this achievement possible.

With the awarding of the “Distinction for Cuban Education” and the “Rafael María de Mendive” medal to teachers from the region, as well as the recognition of members of the Association of Educators and outstanding leaders, the group at the forefront of education grows, along with their commitment, because the greatness of the work lies in rising to meet the demands of the times.
