In Guáimaro, honor and glory to the heroes (+Photos)

Guáimaro, January 17 - With the deep sentiment of an entire country, this Friday Guáimaro paid posthumous tribute to the 32 Cuban fighters who heroically faced the aggression of the United States government against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The gray afternoon and the square around the mausoleum that holds the remains of Ana Betancourt de Mora were filled with flags, songs, poems, and slogans; with faces moved by the crime; and also with the dignity of a people willing to defend their sovereignty against the enemy.

In the words of the young healthcare collaborator Yaisel Castellanos Medina echoed the tribute of honor and glory to those who fell in the line of duty, as well as the lineage of men and women of these times, heirs to a history of anti-imperialist struggle and a vocation for solidarity.

This was confirmed in his speech by the First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Alexander Massagué Álvarez, who also highlighted the example of bravery of the compatriots who sacrificed their lives in the Venezuelan nation for a just cause.

In this land where the First Constitution of the Republic of Cuba in Arms was proclaimed in 1869, multiple voices solemnly evoked the legacy of the heroes, while reaffirming the commitment to the Revolution and the value of unity as a barrier against fascist threats and a means for preserving peace.
