Madrid, Dec 9th - The absence of French forward Kylian Mbappé from today's training sessions has raised alarms at Real Madrid ahead of Wednesday's Champions League match.
This comes at a critical moment for the "White House" and on the eve of the crucial clash against Manchester City tomorrow at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Mbappé fractured the ring finger on his left hand last Sunday during the match that the Merengues lost 0-2 against Celta de Vigo in LaLiga.
In addition to confirming that Kiki is experiencing pain in the fractured finger, Real Madrid added that at the same time the French player is feeling physical discomfort, without providing further details.
Spanish media are already discussing Brazilian Rodrygo Goes as a possible substitute, a player who has gone more than 30 matches without scoring a goal.
Confirmed absences for the White squad against City will be full-backs Alexander Arnold and Dani Carvajal, and center-back Éder Militão, almost certainly Dean Huijsen as well, with doubts over Eduardo Camavinga.
Real Madrid has only been defeated by Liverpool (0-1) in this knockout phase of the Champions League, but a victory against City would secure their direct qualification to the next stage of the tournament.
