First Gold for Japan at the Abu Dhabi Judo Grand Slam 2025

Abu Dhabi, Nov. 29 - Japanese judoka Megu Danno won the gold medal today in the 63-kilogram division of the Judo Grand Slam in this capital, defeating Mongolia's Enkhriilen Lkhagvatogoo in the final.

This was Japan's first gold medal in this tournament, which is taking place from November 28 to 30 in Abu Dhabi, featuring 373 competitors from 52 countries.

The bronze medals in that division went to Brazil's Rafaela Silva and Italy's Carlotta Avanzato.

On Saturday, titles will also be awarded in the women's 70 kg category and the men's 73 and 81 kg categories.
