Havana, January 17th - The book titled *Culture in Cuba and in the World*, by the iconic national writer Alejo Carpentier, will be presented today at the traditional “Saturday of the Book” event held in the historic center of this capital.
Published by Ediciones Olivo, the work compiles the lectures delivered by the intellectual on the radio station Radio Habana Cuba between 1964 and 1966, reported the Cuban Book Institute, organizer of the monthly event.
This volume gathers for the first time the 32 talks that have been preserved from that radio series, the statement added.
The meeting will take place at 11:00 a.m. local time on Calle de Madera, in front of the Palace of the Captains General, located in the Plaza de Armas in the historic center of the city.
Alejo Carpentier (1904-1980) was a Cuban novelist, critic, and essayist, author of the books *The Kingdom of This World*, *The Age of Enlightenment*, and *Baroque Concert*, considered the first representative of Latin American Magical Realism.
