Guáimaro, Feb. 28 - The analysis of indicators and results of the local socioeconomic life was the focus of the exchange this Saturday in Guáimaro, during the 27th Ordinary Session of the Municipal Assembly of People's Power, in its 18th term of office.
The representatives of the people discussed topics such as the execution of the budget during 2025, the fulfillment of the functions and attributions of the Administrative Council, the Maternal and Child Care Program (PAMI), and the consolidation and development of social policies.

They also addressed matters of notable impact, including the projection of initiatives to increase production, especially of food; energy saving and the rational use of energy carriers; as well as contributions to the commercial circulation of the non-state sector linked to gastronomy.
From the meeting, compliance with regulations related to budget management was emphasized. In this regard, Yelenis Saavedra Tamayo, president of the Municipal Assembly, urged the implementation of measures for the execution of funds by organizations and entities, based on control and planning.

The delegates emphasized the necessary confrontation of abusive prices, an action that requires the joint work of the people and the authorities.
They also examined the solutions and responses to the proposals of the voters submitted to the municipal body regarding basic services such as water supply, solid waste collection, road repairs, and the rotation of circuits for electrical outages.

They also debated aspects that constitute concerns for the population, such as the maintenance of multifamily buildings, the repair of solar panels in several communities, and the need for a treatment plant for the opening of the hemodialysis room—issues that depend both on material resources and effective strategies.
The regular session of the Assembly in the easternmost municipality of Camagüey highlighted the importance of the permanent and systematic connection between entities and popular councils, community work groups, electoral districts, and neighborhoods to address the people's problems through timely dialogue and follow-up on concerns, principles that govern the work and improvement of popular power.

In this regard, the First Secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Alexander Massagué Álvarez, called for being consistent with duty and responsibilities amidst the complex circumstances facing the country.
While the reports from the permanent commissions of the body highlight modest achievements amid the challenging conditions, they also reveal a broad agenda of tasks that, during the current year 2026, will engage the people of Guáimaro with the aim of advancing the implementation of the Government Program to correct distortions and boost the economy.
