Welcomed Guáimaro IV Ignacio Agramonte Cup

Guáimaro, April 9 — Six twelfth-grade students from the urban pre-university institute "Asamblea de Guáimaro" in the headquarters locality, and the rural "Roberto Coco Peredo" in Cascorro, participated this Wednesday in the IV Ignacio Agramonte Cup. This event, promoted by the University of Camagüey together with the Provincial Directorate of Education, aims to facilitate direct entry into careers at the House of Higher Studies.

For the first time, the competition was held in the easternmost of the Camagüey territories, as well as in the rest of the municipalities of the province, due to fuel limitations and the country's power situation.

Leading the competition, professors from the local University Center recognize the impact of this initiative in promoting the continuation of higher studies.

The schedule began with an exam on one of the subjects related to the chosen career: Mathematics, Spanish, History, Biology, Chemistry, and/or Geography. Finally, the contestants answered questions about the specialty they selected to study, among the 26 offered by the Agramonte institution.

The Guáimaro applicants opted for the degrees in English Language and Tourism, Computer Science, and Industrial and Chemical Engineering.

Single panels for the related subjects and careers, approved at the central headquarters of the University of Camagüey, will lead the grading process and awarding of positions. The results will be officially communicated next April 17.

The fourth edition of the Ignacio Agramonte Cup in Guáimaro leaves the satisfaction that, despite difficult conditions, the will prevails to guarantee access to professional academic training in recognition of effort and talent.
