Local Industries in Camagüey Plan to Improve Productive Linkages

Camagüey, January 8th - In a context marked by the financial limitations faced by the country, the fuel deficit, and the complex electro-energy situation, the Provincial Local Industries Company worked during the past year to maintain the productive flow in its different areas.

Neyda Verdecia Tamayo, director of the entity, stated that in this regard all workshops in the province were affected. However, she assured that despite these irregularities and the small levels of raw materials, priority was given to the teams where personnel with disabilities work, in order to maintain stability in production and the workforce.

On the other hand, due to the need to continue recovering the financial situation, which has been deteriorating for years, the team of workers complied with policies that benefit the Socialist State Enterprise, such as productive linkages with new economic actors, Verdecia Tamayo highlighted.

Although plans in the main productive branches were not fulfilled, results were achieved in services, shortcomings in other areas were overcome, reaching a profit of around 25 million above the plan; likewise, she emphasized that today the company’s negative working capital, which it has faced for more than a decade, has been considerably reduced.

Despite existing limitations, the relationship with various suppliers, primarily with the Raw Materials Recovery Company, has guaranteed the workshops' production, affirmed Neyda Verdecia Tamayo, who, referring to the commitments for the current calendar year, proposed to activate 100% of them, with greater stability in the supply of raw materials through productive linkages.
