Although delays persist in deliveries of several products that make up the standard family basket, five pounds of rice are now expected to be delivered over the next few days.
According to sources from the Provincial Wholesale Food Company (EMPA), a shipment of the in-demand cereal, already in the country, is awaiting arrival at the port of Nuevitas.
It was specified that this lot also includes the allocations of the territories of Ciego de Ávila and Las Tunas.
With the approximately 1,300 tons that will be unloaded for the province, the remaining two pounds per consumer for June can be covered, and a partial three pounds for July can be started.
In the case of sugar, distributions have been completed in the towns of Nuevitas, Minas, Sierra de Cubitas, Esmeralda, Guáimaro, Sibanicú, Florida, Céspedes, and Santa Cruz del Sur. The units in Camagüey, Najasa, and Jimaguayú are now being taken over.
Only the wineries in Florida and Camagüey are awaiting September salt, but it is clear that there are sufficient inventories to guarantee its sale.
The compote has completed its sixth round, and the seventh is in the initial marketing phase.
In the case of cigars, it was specified that the September quotas (four packs and one cigar) will begin in Guáimaro and the city of Agramonte.
Toiletries, cooking oil, and coffee are currently unavailable.
