Cuba Denounces Comprehensive Economic Warfare Program by the U.S.

Havana, Nov 13.- Cuba denounced today that the Government of the United States organizes, finances, and implements a comprehensive economic warfare program aimed at destabilizing the constitutional order in the Caribbean nation.

According to the claim, disclosed in the program "Razones de Cuba," one of the pillars of this hostility is the scheme for currency trafficking and tax evasion on the island, employing operators of Cuban origin based in the United States and other countries.

The accusation specifically targeted El Toque, a presumably independent digital media outlet specializing in economic, legal, and public service information for Cuban communities, and emphasized that taxpayer money from the U.S. is used in this operation.

Reports were revealed during the broadcast regarding the allocation of funds to the companies Media Plux Experience and Mas Voces Foundations, which are registered in the name of the director of El Toque, José Jasán Nieves.

A portion of those funds, it was disclosed, is used to promote leaders among non-state economic actors and to ensure the illegal trafficking of freely convertible currencies within the Caribbean nation.

Additionally, actions from 2024 were presented, featuring the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the U.S. Embassy in the capital, Xavier Billingsley, along with evidence of the involvement of several citizens in operations intended to provoke inflationary crises in Cuba.

The denunciation, the attendees asserted, confirms that, as announced by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez at the end of October, Cuba investigated the national inflation phenomenon and collected evidence of the comprehensive economic warfare program perpetrated from the United States.

"Razones de Cuba" is a web platform founded 15 years ago, aimed at practicing journalism against the communication narratives imposed by hegemonic media.
