Guáimaro, Nov 18.- International Student Day at the Urban Pre-University Institute (IPU) Asamblea de Guáimaro became a space this Monday for the enjoyment of various artistic expressions, featuring the participation of enthusiasts and instructors from the Callejera Embassy, part of the Casa de la Cultura Luz Palomares García.
Poetry, magic, music, and dance enlivened the educational center as a gift for this anniversary, which in Cuba commemorates the achievements of the Revolution in caring for young people and their rights to self-improvement and full development. In contrast, in other countries, reality often highlights the defense of interests far removed from social welfare.
Every year, the world remembers the events of November 17, 1939, when a group of students in Prague, Czechoslovakia, led a heroic resistance against fascist occupation and the Hitlerian yoke, which unleashed its fury upon them through executions, arrests, and torture in a concentration camp.
Inspired by the feelings of freedom and patriotism of Czechoslovak youth, the International Student Council—later known as the International Union of Students (UIS)—declared the date that just a few hours ago called upon Guáimaro teenagers and artists to celebrate life and the sentiments of youth around the globe.
