Guáimaro, January 3rd - The history of Cuba and, especially, the Martian and Fidelist legacy, serve as sources of inspiration for the youth vanguard of Guáimaro, who will be protagonists throughout January in various activities defending the patriotic memories and traditions of the nation.
The reenactment of the entry of the Caravan of Freedom into Guáimaro and the province of Camagüey in 1959 is one of the events where the youth will take an active part alongside the people, through the celebration of a ceremony in Constitución Park after noon on Sunday, January 4th.
Junior López Gómez, first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), informed Radio Guáimaro this Friday that the Torch March is also being organized in the territory, scheduled for Tuesday the 27th, in commemoration of the 173rd anniversary of the birth of the Apostle José Martí and the Generation of the Centennial, led by the undefeated Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
Members of the UJC in the easternmost municipality of Camagüey will also carry out other actions in tribute to the birth of the Cuban National Hero and to the hundred years of Fidel, among which stand out the grassroots events of the 50th edition of the Young Martian Studies Seminar, to be held throughout the country until February of this year.
